COVID-19 Safety Plan in Place
Screening and assessment
Practitioner will self assess daily with the self assessment tool found here: https://bc.thrive.health/covid19/en. The practitioner commits to cancelling all sessions if symptoms arise, and testing/reporting to 811 as necessary according to PHO guidelines
Patients receive a mandatory self assessment questionnaire 1 day prior to their appointment. If they develop any symptoms prior to their appointment, they are required to inform their practitioner and may be required to reschedule their appointment.
Patients with higher risk profiles and/or weakened immune systems may consider postponing their treatment, or requesting the first appointment of the day
The therapist and patient must agree that the therapeutic benefit outweighs the potential risk of receiving treatment, including viral transmission
Physical distancing
Patient is asked to wait outside the waiting room and arrive on time (not early) since the waiting area is closed
Patient is asked not to be accompanied when it is not a necessity (doesn’t apply to minors)
Physical distancing will be respected during the verbal assessment
Physical distancing will not be possible during the manual assessment and treatment. Appropriate PPE will be used during that phase, primarily masks
Hygiene protocols
The clinic door will be opened by the practitioner and locked after entry, in order to minimize touching of surfaces
Patient is required to wash hands for 20 seconds or sanitize hands upon entering the clinic
Patient and practitioner are required to wear a mask during treatment. If a patient arrives without a mask, one will be provided for them
Practitioner washes hands and forearms with soap in between each session
Hard surfaces will be sanitized in between each session (chairs, door knobs, counters…)
Fabric furniture will be covered with a layer that can be swapped in between appointments
Therapy bed and pillows are covered in vinyl, and sanitized in between each session
Personal water bottles are recommended if you require water during your appointment
all linens are single use only and laundered at high heat in between sessions
Cash is accepted but not preferred at this time. All receipts will be emailed, not printed
Communication and Consent
Patients receive an assessment questionnaire 1 day prior to their appointment
Patients are informed and consent to the fact that physical distancing is not possible during hands on assessment and treatment, and are aware of the harm reduction approach that is implemented
This document can be read by patients online or in person
If the patient presents COVID-19 symptoms 24hrs before the session, the cancellation fee will be waived
If the patient tests positive for COVID-19 within 14 days after the session, they agree they will notify the practitioner at their earliest opportunity
